I am so surprised at mrs Adrienne Curry and for many other news channels for making this a racial thing.
It has nothing to do with race. It has more to do with ill- informed brainwashing commercials, and a person's belief and religion.
These results where not heavily influenced by as she states african americans,
It was voted yes by people of all races and religious backgrounds.
I personally voted no on it and feel it is wrong to take away a person's pursuit of happiness.
This issue is not about race.
not one bit...
Plus you must realize the increase of african american voters this year alone..
it just seem like the vast majority voted yes..
anyway look at these statistics
and lets focus more on what this issue is really about
taking away a person's right, it should not be done
whether you are black, white, hispanic, indian, asian, or other
I wanted to make another example
I was listening to the radio and a woman called in, stated she is voting yes on prop 8 because of the commercials she sees on tv.
The radio host asked her if she knew what prop 8 really was about, did she take the time to read it,
she stated no...
she was voting on something she didn't even know about, just about what she heard on the tv.
I feel the majority of people ( of all races) voted yes on prop 8 because of what they thought it was about,
not because of what they knew it was about.
If they had any idea of what it states and that it was taking away a persons right, I think they would think differently.
I really feel some of them, not all of them, was misinformed and was making an ill-judgement maybe , unknowingly.
They feel it will protect marriage... well unfornately marriage does not need protecting..
This passing of prop 8 is saddening
it should have never happened.
The media is using statistics and rolling around the real issue of what prop 8 has done, making it more racially motivated when it is not
the passing of Prop 8 violates our on Constitution's 14th amendment
As is stated in the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution, "... No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
.. that is what they should be talking about.
